Ready for the off FAQ

What is Ready for the off? Ready for the off is GOAT Adventures’ secure digital check-in process. Instead of spending the first day of your tour mired in paperwork, Ready for the off helps you submit your information before you even leave home. What traveller information do you collect? Ready for the off collects the information necessary for any services booked on a tour. The information we require includes: Emergency contact details Relevant medical information Proof of insurance Passport information Arrival and departure details Traveller participation waiver Is completing the Ready for the off process mandatory? Yes. To travel on any tour, you must be deemed Ready for the off. If you have multiple tours on one booking, you only need to go through the process once. How is GOAT Adventures going to handle the information provided? The GOAT Adventures privacy policy explains how we use and protect traveller information. We also have safeguards in place to protect the sensitive data we receive during the booking process and through Ready for the off. To help protect this information while the data is transmitted over the internet, we have implemented a high level of encryption. GOAT Adventures will not use the collected information for marketing purposes of any kind.

More time. Administration is all taken care of pre-tour, allowing the adventure to truly begin at your welcome meeting.
When do I need to provide this information?
You can begin the Ready for the off process as soon as you've booked your tour. The deadline for submitting required information is directly related to your specific tour.
Can someone other than me complete the Ready for the off process?
Another person, such as a GOAT Adventures Travel Host, your travel agent, or a fellow traveller on the booking can provide some of the necessary information through the Ready for the off process. However, due to legal reasons there are a few sections that must be completed directly by you or, in the case of minors travelling, by their parent or legal guardian. One example is the traveller participation waiver.
Why does each traveller need to complete their own waiver(s)?
We require travellers to complete and agree to one or more waivers depending on the type of trip booked.
Since these waivers are legal agreements, they must be completed by the person who is travelling on the trip

What does "Holding an Option" mean? It means reserving space without payment for up to 48 hours. Holding an option gives you time to research flights, gather passport information, confirm arrangements with travel partners, etc. An option will expire, and your space will be released unless you confirm within 48 hours. Holding an option isn't necessary if you know you want to book and are ready to make payment.

How do I "Hold an Option" When submitting the booking form you must state that you would like to ‘HOLD’ for 48 hours, when we reply, you will be provided with a Booking Reference Number and instructions on how to confirm. Options that are not confirmed within 48 hours will expire and your space will be released.

Can I book and confirm without holding an option? Yes! You can do so by filling in the booking form and stating that you would like to book now, we will reply with a Booking Reference Number and the ways to pay. Please make sure you have the following details. • Full name as it appears on your passport • Passport number, expiry date and place of issue • Nationality • Full mailing address • Date of birth • Occupation • Emergency contact name and phone number • details regarding any medical or dietary requirements • credit card details The most up to date information on deposit amounts and full payment dates can be found on our Booking Terms and Conditions.

Is availability guaranteed when I book online? The availability listed on our website is updated regularly, however on some tours we must confirm arrangements with our local operations on the ground, a process which usually takes no more than 24 to 72 hours. When you book using the booking form, you will receive a follow-up email confirming your arrangements or a timeframe for when they will be confirmed. We strongly recommend that you do not make any other non-refundable travel arrangements until you receive confirmation that your space has been held.

Are your tours guaranteed to run?
The security that comes from knowing your trip is locked in is a feeling that can't be topped. We like that feeling – so much so that we figured everyone should have it. Every GOAT Adventures departure is guaranteed to run if there are a minimum of 2 guests booked and confirmed on the tour.
Do I need insurance?
All our tours require that you have medical travel insurance which includes at least €30,000 worth of emergency evacuation and repatriation coverage. On Day 1 your tour leader / GOAT Adventures representative will ask you for proof of coverage. Cancellation insurance is recommended but not mandatory.
Can my documents be mailed out to me?
As a sustainable company we try to limit the amount of paper that we consume, therefore, all documents are electronically sent directly to your email account. Please consult a GOAT Adventures specialist if this is not possible.
How do you send out travel documentation?
All documentation is sent electronically by email. Shortly after we receive your payment, we will send you your initial documents. Final documentation will be sent by email no later than two weeks prior to the departure.
Can I pay in full right away?
You sure can. Please let your GOAT Adventures specialist know at time of booking or indicate this when making your online booking.
Can I cancel my booking if I decide I cannot make it?
After you have confirmed your booking, you have the option to cancel. For the most up to date cancelation penalties please refer to our Booking Terms and Conditions. Because of this, we highly recommend taking out an All-Inclusive Insurance policy, so you know your investment is secure!
